FAQs

How and when should I RSVP by?

Kindly RSVP and book your room before March 1, 2024.

Step 1: RSVP for your entire group by clicking "RSVP" in the top right menu.
Step 2: Book your room by clicking "Click Here to Book Your Room" link on the "Travel" tab.

While we have reserved a block of rooms, there is limited availability at this popular destination.
To ensure that you get the room type and rate, please make your plans as early as possible. These rooms are available at the group rate until the room block has been filled or until March 1, after which their standard rate and availability restrictions will apply. We encourage our guests to plan accordingly. Your RSVP is contingent on securing accommodations at the host resort. If no room is secured by the deadline, RSVP is subject to cancellation.

Can I take pictures during the ceremony?

This is an unplugged wedding ceremony. We respectfully ask that all guests refrain from from using cell phones to take photos or to post on social media during the ceremony, and silence/turn off all electronic devices. We’ve hired a professional photographer to capture this special moment so that you can sit back, relax, and enjoy it with us. Although we know it is with the best of intentions, it would pain us if a well-meaning guest's device hindered our photographer's view. Images will be available for you to view after the wedding.
After the ceremony, feel free to take as many photos as you want!

Am I allowed to bring my children?

Although we love your little ones, this is an adult-only affair. We regretfully cannot accommodate them. You're understanding and cooperation is much appreciated.

Can I bring a plus one?

Regretfully, we are only able to accommodate specific guests named on the invitations.  No plus ones will be permitted. Thank you so much for understanding.

What is the dress code?

Formal, black tie optional - (Suit and tie and dresses); Please no shorts, hats, jeans or non-collared shirts.
We kindly ask that you do not wear colors traditionally reserved for the bride - whites, ivories, etc.

Can I book accommodations elsewhere?

This is a secured location that is only accessible to guests of the resort. As such, all guests of the wedding are required to secure accommodations at Dreams Las Mareas.

Is the Wedding Inside or Outside?

All wedding events will be held outdoors. If rain is anticipated, wedding events will be moved indoors to the Ballroom.

How Do I Book My Room? Do I have to pay for my whole trip upfront?

You must book your room through our travel agent to be included in our wedding count. Please use the link in the "Travel" Tab.
You do not need to pay for the whole trip upfront when you book your room! You are able to reserve your room and lock in your rate with an initial deposit. Once the deposit is paid, your room will be held and your full payment will be due closer to your travel dates.

What airport should we fly into? When should we book my airfare?

We recommend flying into Liberia International Airport (LIR). Your all-inclusive rate includes transfers to and from the resort. Unfortunately, the all-inclusive room rate does not include airfare.
The rule of thumb is to secure travel around 6 months before the event, but we recommend booking your airfare sooner rather than later as prices will likely increase as the wedding date approaches. The average price for a roundtrip flight ranges from $300-$600 a person, depending on when you book, your travel dates, and where you are traveling from.
See the "Travel" tab for more details.

Do I need a passport to travel to Costa Rica?

Yes, all guests must have a valid passport to travel to Costa Rica. You will need your passport to board your flight and check in at the resort. Please make sure your passport is valid for at least 6 months past the date of your return flight.
If you do not have a passport, we encourage you to start this process early on as passports can take up to 10-12 weeks to arrive once you have applied.

How long should we stay in Costa Rica?

The resort requires a 3 night minimum.
Our wedding is August 24, 2024. We suggest arriving at least 1-2 days before the wedding day in case of unanticipated travel delays.
However, Costa Rica is a beautiful country! Feel free to stay as long as you would like to explore all that Costa Rica has to offer! We chose to do a destination wedding as traveling is important to us.

What Kind of Room Should I Book: Standard or Preferred?

This is completely up to you and your preferences! You have many options to choose from.
The cheapest room options are the standard rooms: accompanied by more noise, close to restaurants, the lobby, and nightlife,  far from the beach. All of these rooms include either 1 king or 2 double beds and a furnished terrace with a soaking tub.
You can also reserve a room that is apart of the resort's Preferred Club. These room rates are a bit pricier but include great perks: private check-in/check-out, access to a member's only private pool & private section of the beach, upgraded concierge service, access to a private lounge. These rooms also vary in luxuries (e.g., some have a swim-out pool off the terrace).
