Krista and Jedly’s story began in the tender years of adolescence when they first crossed paths as 14 and 15-year-olds, in the corridors of North Miami Senior High school. While Jedly’s alluring personality and his status as the new kid in school quickly gained the attention of many schoolmates (especially the girls), Krista was so immersed in her studies that she failed to notice him completely. In the fall of 2005, Krista and Jedly finally met in the back of World History class. It was during this time that Jedly asked the most important question in Krista’s life: Do you know God? This led to Jedly inviting Krista to weekly bible study and church services at Miami Shores Christian Church. Their friendship sparked and flourished, and an unbreakable bond formed, nurtured by shared dreams, laughter, a love of God, an admiration for Kobe Bryant and a deep understanding of one another. After watching Jedly serve God as the guitarist in the worship team, Krista found herself falling for Jedly. Unfortunately, Jedly did not want to admit the same at the time, and the pair remained close friends. 

 

The good friends eventually embarked on separate paths as they went to college. But fate had something more extraordinary in store for them, and their paths intertwined once again. As they ventured into adulthood, their shared wanderlust ignited a flame that transformed their friendship into something spectacular. In June of 2015, Krista and Jedly planned a trip to Europe for her birthday. The magic of Europe provided the perfect backdrop for their love to bloom. Their connection deepened through countless unforgettable moments, from riding bicycles on Champs-Élysées to hiking in Schwarzwald in southwest Germany, bordering France. When the emerging lovebirds took a pedicab in front of the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, the driver did not ask them if they were a couple; instead he asked “are you two in love”? Krista sat back silently as she had already made her feelings known in the past. After a short reflection, Jedly responded “well, if you ask like that, then, yes. I love her”. Upon return from Europe, the couple made it official. 

 

For 7 years, the couple dated and expanded their travels, with each new destination bringing them closer. In the serendipity of their travels, they discovered a love that was written in the stars, affirming that their souls were meant to journey through life hand in hand. Their bond, forged over years of laughter, support, and the magic they discovered along the way, now stands as the foundation for a lifelong partnership, celebrating the beauty of friendship turned into love. Together, they embark on their next adventure—tying the knot and creating a new chapter in their remarkable love story.

Krista went to visit Jedly during his assignment in Alaska in February of 2023. Jedly, the master of surprises, planned a secret date with Krista, but his plans were interrupted by a snow storm. This was a bit stressing to Jedly, but he had faith and patience. After a couple hours, the weather improved and the couple took the lengthy drive to Knik Valley, Alaska. Upon arrival, the snow storm returned and once again put Jedly's plans at risk. Staff from the lodge advised most of the day's activites were canceled, but they were willing to monitor for a brief period due to Alaska's unpredictable weather. This was stressful for Jedly and confusing for Krista, as she remained clueless. About 1 hour later, the staff returned with the good news that the weather improved and the secret plan could proceed. The couple was escorted behind the lodge to a helicopter landing pad. To Krista's surprise, Jedly planned a Helicopter Glacier tour (an entry on Krista's Bucket List). The couple and their pilot, Marc, took off on an aerial adventure and landed on a frozen lake at the base of a glacier. They trekked through the area before stopping to take photos. When Krista turned around to make a comment to Jedly, he was on one knee and popped the question. Krista said yes and the couple celebrated with a champagne toast in front of the glacier.
